Solarplate Printing with Photographs
Saturday and Sunday, February 23 – 24, 10am – 4pm
$195 plus materials fee

Printmaking with solar plates is a simple approach and safer alternative to traditional etching and relief printing. The plate is a prepared, light-sensitive polymer surface on a steel backing. In this workshop we will print photographic images onto acetate and then transfer them to a plate using UV light. They are then developed using ordinary tap water. We will then experiment with a variety of printing techniques. No experience necessary.
