Child abuse and neglect impact far too many children every year.

1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys are estimated to experience child sexual abuse in the United States before the age of 18.
More than half a million children in the U.S. are known to be abused or neglected each year — and many cases still go unreported.
Child abuse affects minds, bodies, relationships, and futures. The trauma can deeply impact a child’s sense of safety, trust, and connection to the world around them. Left untreated, it can contribute to mental health challenges, behavioral struggles, and long-term physical health effects.
It was truly an honor to photograph the work being done by the Lamoille County Child Advocacy Center — an organization helping provide safety, support, and advocacy for children and families in our community.
Every child deserves to feel safe, seen, protected, and heard.
