Sturgeon Moon Eclipse,

Trying to dodge the clouds made tracking the moon difficult, but I was glad I was able capture what I did. Did my best in post processing to try and stabilize these shots but again, clouds did not help, and unfortunately during totality I wasn't able to get any of the reddish color,... also because of all the clouds. So here is an almost complete time lapse of the Sturgeon moon Lunar eclipse. It was still cool, I'll take anything I can get!!

It was a very busy Friday night at Milky Way Point, everyone wanted to see the Perseid meteor showers. Although I saw many, I was only able to catch a couple. As usual I was the last man standing! Here is a TL of the night.

Taking shots of the Perseid meteor shower at Milky Way Point and I caught what I believe to be a meteor coming straight at me. There was a large group and we all saw this together. In real time it looked like a bright dot that got increasingly brighter then disappeared. Luckily the shutter was open when it happened. Also if you look you can see a plane trail above & to the right just a bit, this was really cool to see!

Here is the partial solar eclipse time laps, shot in my back yard here in Woburn, MA. With only 16% coverage it was still cool to witness, I wish there were less clouds, but the SeeStar did very well tracking considering. Always a learning experience in hopes for another full eclipse someday! The first half is shot with the Seestar solar filter the last half shot with the baader film filter, for the white spectrum. Enjoy!!

Working on a Timelapse of today’s partial eclipse, stay tuned!

My first go with the new tracker, now need to learn more processing tricks for stacking tracked shots. Here is a quick time laps I made. Cool how the ground moves instead of the sky. These are 1:30 second exposures, with some basic edits in Lightroom classic.

Here is my second attempt at the milky way from the Manitoba countryside. This time with a friend who I think might have caught the astrophotography bug,... along with lots of real bugs,...lol! We tried to find some dark skies but there is more light pollution south of Winnipeg in the location we were at. He was able to get some shots with his google pixel phone that were pretty impressive for a phone! Here is a light polluted time laps, and a shot from my friend Jody's phone.
