Every two months I participate in a revolving art exhibit at the Tewksbury, MA library. Tomorrow is changeover day so I thought I would post what I will be exhibiting for the months of August-September. (I was told I don't post often enough here! LOL) The theme for this 2-month block is "Age" - alive or inanimate. I have 3 pieces for this block.

My Cover photo is the Baldwin Mansion in Woburn MA. The original photo was a color slide taken in 1987 with a Canal Boat replica in the Canal. Colonel Loammi Baldwin fought for our Independence in 1776, 250 years ago! In this photo the Mansion sits on the banks of the remnants of the Middlesex Canal (active from 1803-1853), whom his son helped design and build. It sat in its original spot, on what became Elm St., until 1971 when it was moved to the other side of Main St. to make room for a shopping plaza. It is now a Chinese restaurant and fancy cocktail bar. And actually, the Baldwins were active in the China trade so there were probably many pieces of the typical Chinese high lacquered furniture in the house at the time. Below are an artist's rendition of how it looked in the hay-day of the Canal, and a photo of it on Elm St. taken in 1936. What was the front door now faces the Canal and a new fancy door was added to face Alfred St. where it now sits.

Come one, come all! Another year, another Art Festival!!! I will be there of course with lots of photos: cards, matted prints, framed pieces! All my enlargements are Giclee, 100 year archival prints made in the US. Lots of Horn Pond, close-up nature, and travel photos from out west, Ireland and Italy. There will be lots of different arts and crafts, food, and music! A fun time!!!

Taste of Spring is coming! Pay one flat fee and get all the samples you want from all the participating restaurants! And at the same time paruse the beautiful art in the foyer and if something catches your eye, put in a bid in the Woburn Guild of Artist's Silent Auction! It's always an enjoyable and delicious night and you support NuPath with your ticket and the Guild of Artists with your auction bid!

Caught a great Sunset tonight on Horn Pond where I live. Went from golden yellow to deep pink to brilliant red!
