Fado is Portugal’s music of longing, fate, and saudade. Ricardo Parreira grew up in the tradition, learning guitarra Portuguesa from his father, António Parreira. He’s performed worldwide, teaches at Lisbon’s Fado Museum, and has released three albums.

Joining him are Alison Dasilva, winner of the 2024 International Portuguese Music Award for Best New Talent; Pedro Botas, a fadista based in Newark; and viola player Viriato Ferreira, a mainstay of the U.S. fado scene for over 40 years. Together, they bring the heart of Portugal to Lowell.
