Great, indeed! What a fantastic vista and who would’ve thought there would be a desert in Colorado? Definitely on my list for Light Fantastic 2027!!!

A concept shoot for me, I called this Ser Mary, First Knight of the Grey Glacier.

I’ve always wanted to do an armor shoot at Light Fantastic AKA AnthonyCon and with this year’s location in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, this was the first look I wanted to do. Luckily Gianna is always ready to sacrifice her body for the sake of art (check out more of the upcoming sets from LF we did together). Donning actual 20 gauge steel gorget, spaulder, and breastplate, along with hip armor and underlying chain mail, she rocked what is classified as a moderate hike to Saint Mary’s Glacier near Idaho Springs, Colorado. Not moderate when you’re sporting armor - I have no idea how much all the armor weighed, but certainly more than the camera equipment I hauled up for the shoot.

At an elevation of 11,236 feet - well the view was worth the pain!!! We were “lucky” as it rained for a good portion of the time, which made for dramatic shots on the glacier.

This was our first shoot in Colorado and the first official shoot we had for Light Fantastic; so a few days and various hikes later, let’s just say personally I was just wiped. Altitude and photoshoots, oh my!

Speaking of Light Fantastic, registration for next year’s event will open soon. It will be the 10th anniversary of the event in 2027!!! Join us in celebrating the milestone!

Have you downloaded the remastered version of Witcher 3? Have it on 3 platforms, so I’ll be busy updating this morning with the wonderful CD Projekt Red gift!

Registration for Light Fantastic 2026 is officially open! There are a few changes to the format this year - a big one is this is a summer edition (late June). Short notice BUT it’s because the event (in its 9th year) is moving locations. We’ll be in beautiful Colorado this year just outside Rocky Mountain NP!!! Summer weather in the mountains!!!

This year’s multi-day cosplay photography event is from June 24-28. As in the past, there are limited spots for cosplayers and photographers, especially so this year as the new location makes it logistically difficult to organize a large group. Registration is on a rolling basis and may fill quickly. Please register ASAP!!!
