Last weekend I traveled to the beautiful Palouse region of Washington and Idaho to photograph the golden hues of harvest season. I was thrilled to see the jumble of hay bales when we pulled up at this idyllic farm scene! This is Red Barn and Hay Bales.

This week some American White Pelicans stopped by the Twin Lakes to take a break during their spring migration. One of the largest flying birds, they were a lot of fun to watch, especially with those massive bills!

Forgotten Sunset. Last spring I went out to photograph the sunflowers, but Mother Nature had other ideas as the wind started howling! I wound up enjoying shooting this old homestead instead, especially as the clouds lit up above at sunset.

This morning's showers will certainly bring flowers! Here in the valley the snow is melting rapidly and Yellow Bells are already starting to bloom! In just a few weeks our hillsides will be blanketed in yellow and purple... I can't wait! In the meantime, here is a close-up of a pretty Bitterroot flower from last spring.

Going back to last spring while waiting for the snow to melt here in the valley.... In this image, the clouds reflect in a seasonal pond just after sunrise in Oregon’s spectacular Umpqua Dunes.

Warming temps and longer days are making me excited for spring and seeing the valley covered in green and wildflowers! In the meantime, here is some green from last fall... This was taken in the Hall of Mosses in the spectacular Hoh Rain Forest of Olympic National Park.

Longer days mean I can now get out and enjoy our beautiful sunsets after work! This image was taken earlier this week. I saw the clouds setting up as I was wrapping up my day... had just enough time to get the layers on (temps were in the teens!) and to run down to the edge of the frozen lake before the light show started. This is Big Twin Winter Sunset.

Another from last fall at Olympic National Park. On this morning, we saw lightning out over the ocean and got a little soaked as we awaited the sunrise... But it was all worth it when this small double rainbow appeared through the clouds. It was a special moment both to experience and to capture! Stormy Morning at Rialto Beach.
