Did you know we have absolutely no clue what to name this baby? Boy names are hard. I’ve probably read a million name lists and nothing sticks out to me. Who has got some good suggestions?!

Wish me luck on my iron infusion today…FINALLY. My ferritin is a 7, so this hopefully will make me feel better soon.

Lastly, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes yesterday. I did not have it with my first two so I’m needing a minute to process this. Words of encouragement here are also welcome.

In 2024, I photographed a 34 year old, mom of 2, shortly after she received a diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer. She reached out wanting something very specific…boudoir photos, and not for anyone else’s approval, but for herself. She knew she might soon face changes to her body, including the possibility of losing her hair, and she wanted to hold onto a version of herself that still felt strong, and beautiful. We talked, we laughed, my girl Sammy did her make up, and we all sat with the weight of what she was facing.

I just learned through Facebook, after she popped into my head, that she has since passed away. I can’t stop thinking about how short and fragile life can be. It was more than an honor to photograph her. And I don’t use that word lightly. Her session reminds me why I do this work, not just to create beautiful images, but to preserve presence, identity, and self-recognition in whatever season of life someone is in. I wish it hadn’t taken me months to hear about her passing, but I will never forget her. Rest easy, Megan.

Hey everyone! Quick update on things over here. It’s killing me not to advertise for sessions, or have galleries to edit. I miss this business so bad, however the rest is what’s best for me for now. I’ve been given a heart monitor to wear for a week to make sure some of the things happening with me are just normal pregnancy stuff but I’ve been pretty anxious waiting this one out. On top of everything, my youngest is sick with a fever and sore throat today. Thought sick season was over but here we are. Also, this heat while pregnant can straight up 🖕🏻. The count down is on though! About 10 weeks left of being pregnant. That’s not too bad right🥴. We just can’t wait til he’s here. I have 9 sessions in the books between now and next month and I am praying the stars align and I can handle them. I appreciate everyone who has understood when I have had to cancel and refund your sessions this month.

It took about all I had in me to get dressed and have some family maternity photos taken tonight.

Fun fact about us, we have NEVER had family photos done before 😂😅but tonight I had my bff take some with my camera in our back yard and I am so happy I did at least that this time around. T-minus 12 weeks until baby boy Davis joins our family.

Ps: shout out to all the moms who have their maternity photos taken also while getting their whole family ready to be in them.

So listen. I am struggling. Literally can’t get off my couch most days without major pain or feeling dizzy. This pregnancy is nothing like I imagined it would be. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never enjoyed being pregnant, but physically and mentally this is one of the hardest things I’ve been through and I didn’t expect to feel like this at only 25 weeks. Without going into anymore detail, I just need to say that I am going to have to either refund some of you for sessions you’ve booked, or I’d be willing to give a free session in 2027 if you reschedule your spring photos to fall photos. As much as I’d love to just push through, it’s just not safe for me or the baby.

Message me if you’re a client with a session coming up in May or June and don’t mind rescheduling (please don’t just ask for a refund), or I’ll be messaging some of you individually to see if we can figure something out.

😭😭😭

EDIT TO ADD: I am still keeping a few sessions in my books. I have an amazing husband who will tag along to local sessions with me so he can be my chauffeur and moral support. If you don’t hear from me, your session is still good to go.
