This is an incredibly special post today because pictured above is my beautiful, amazing, wonderful sister-in-law, , who trusted me with her at-home maternity session at the end of autumn. ❤️

I'm so excited for her and my brother to become first-time parents, and to meet my future nephew, who is due on my beloved Grandma Anna Mae's birthday this weekend (I'm so excited about this lil detail because I miss my grandma every day and love any and all reminders of her).

The rest of this week is all anticipation, but I'm looking forward to being "the weird artist aunt who comes in from the city and is a little bit of a bad influence (in a good way)," very soon and finally getting to see what this lil guy is all about!

Some exciting news to share :)

Hi! I haven't been on here in ages but wanted to drop by and share some exciting news!

I was recently awarded my first-ever arts grant, which has enabled me to take a big step I've wanted to take for a long time—leasing my own photo studio. I've officially moved into the Fitch Building in downtown Des Moines.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way to this milestone, especially all the friends who have already visited me at the studio and hyped me up, and most especially to who helped me navigate the grant-writing process and also hauled many heavy and awkward things up to my new space.
