While down in Madison County for an assignment, I decided to take to the air to take a look at some local sites.
📍The Madison County Courthouse was constructed between 1876 and 1878, being build of locally quarried limestone. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.
📍The Culter-Donahoe Bridge was built in 1870, crossing the North River by Bevington. It was moved to the Winterset City Park in 1979.
📍Winterset is famous for being the birth place of John Wayne, being born there in 1907. His name will forever stand with iconic actors from Western and War films from the 1940’s through the 1960’s.
