Today, we honored the life of a dear friend—someone who was so much more than a wedding planner to us. Brittany, from , embodied grace, love, and kindness—and wasn’t afraid to give a little tough love when it was needed most.

When we got the news last week from our friend , our hearts broke. We only knew Brittany for six years, but she quickly became more than a colleague—she became a close friend.

I’ll never forget how she cared for Allie and me during one of the darkest seasons of my life. At a time when it felt like many friendships were slipping away, Brittany stood by us—steadfast, encouraging, and present.

From the beginning, she poured into our business and our marriage. Even earlier this month, she was helping us think through important decisions as we navigate shifts in both our industry and personal lives. (Good things are coming, but we’ll share more about that another time.)

There are some things on this side of heaven we’ll never fully understand. But we do know this: Brittany is now dancing on streets of gold. Our hearts are with her husband, Erik, her two daughters, and the countless friends and family who love her deeply. It was no surprise to see hundreds of people today celebrating her life—each one touched by Brittany’s light.

We love you, Brittany. We’ll miss you more than words can say. And those of us in the wedding industry who were known and loved by you—we’ll keep showing up for our couples, the way you always did. The I Do Details way.

Also, side note— out the countless weddings we shot together, I can’t seem to find a single photo of us with Brittany. I know we took some together but I'm striking out. If one of those weddings happens to be yours, will you please share it with us? Thank you

This past weekend we were in Charleston to capture Isaiah ( ) and and ‘s wedding day! These two are incredible humans and perfect for each other! Thank you for having us!

Yesterday, we spontaneously stepped in front of the camera (thanks to a tripod and our son)! We've had a lot to celebrate this past week, including 13 years of marriage and 10 years of capturing weddings together. It's hard to believe that we began this journey a decade ago. We’re excited for the next 13 years of marriage and the next 10 years of Allie and Joey Photography! We have big plans for 2025 and can’t wait to start sharing more details in the coming months.

Thank you to all of our couples for trusting us to capture your wedding day! We feel incredibly blessed to document these special moments and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Joe and Katie’s wedding was so wonderful this past weekend! We were reflecting yesterday about their wedding and it really was just so perfect! This entire wedding season has been so wonderful. We really have to get better about sharing all that we’ve been doing!
