Waking up at 4:45am to do a sunrise shoot has never let me down.

To be entirely honest, the before of these shoots is not fun or glamorous. I haphazardly roll out of bed and drive an hour and a half in the pitch black rotating between some mindless podcast or house music (not sure why). But every. single. time. I finish a sunrise session and am calling to tell someone how magical it was. sometimes there's wind, or clouds, or sometimes I am sprinting through the Don Cesar barefoot... But it always works out as some of my favorite sessions. So this is Chloe! Getting fully dressed up and ready to go (probably earlier than I got up) and spending her sunrise at the beach while I'm still barefoot trotting a camera around. We love Chloe!

I know love exists because i went to the Lamb wedding and it was full of it.

The feeling of being in a room of strangers that you feel could become your friend at any point speaks well to the Lamb wedding. I walked in knowing Maddy and Tyler and left with a sense that i knew all the people that love Maddy and Tyler. These high school sweethearts have such a pure and unwavering love, like the kind you write in novels. I’m honored to know them, and gain them as a friend in the process. To the Lambs 🤍🥂

This is this morning in Winter Haven Florida.

I know, shocking. But what an interesting day to be a farmer in (mostly) sunny Central Fl. Prepared for storms and hurricanes alike, but never quite ready for anything to drop below freezing in a state that reaches 100 degrees in March. I went to Whitehead Farms and UPick to check in on how they prepare for this, the first answer? No sleep. The second answer? Freeze before they freeze. So… this is freeze protection at Whitehead. Applying water on their blueberries to protect them. When the water freezes it creates a bulb, releasing heat (or exothermic reaction) which helps these crops from dropping to below freezing temps. The fear? That ice combined with Floridas surprise cold and wind weighing down these crops to where they break off, and now only time will tell. All to say… thank to your local farmers today, and pet your nearest lucky farm cat, they need as much as they can get.

The Holcomb's!

My rule for accepting family sessions is simple... I have to know you. Why? I find it difficult to really connect with families I have no prior knowledge who they are, what they do, or at least have captured one major milestone in their life, and my ultimate goal is to make connections and a few friends along the way. Luckily for me, I've had the opportunity to know the Holcomb family over the last three years. Meeting Isabel in 2023, then Sofia and Elizabeth in 2024 for Sofia's senior photos. So, when Elizabeth reached out about capturing the whole family, on their property, in the place where generations of their family have grown up. It was an easy yes. A wonderful change of pace from the regularly scheduled programming, and getting seven busy lives in one place that is so important to them, priceless.
