Isn't she a beauty?
This was take at the Como Zoo and Conservatory in the Twin Cities. They have such beautiful gardens and my favorite is the Orchid Garden. Orchids are my favorite flower.

They are high maintenance though and every time I purchase one, I kill it. In Florida, you can put them in the trees in the summer and they will flourish.

The frame is form my favorite frame company and is museum grade. It has UV and non glare acrylic and the matte is from Hobby Lobby. This piece is $102

In 1.5 weeks I will be leaving Florida after living here for 2.5 years. I am sad to be leaving. This is paradise. I will miss the wonderful winters, amazing cloud displays, rainy afternoons (with that cool breeze), palm trees (they always put a smile on my face), beautiful beaches and the ocean, live oaks, and good friends.

After I move, I will no longer be taking clients. However, I will be selling prints. If you need gift ideas, look no futher.

Thank you to those who supported me and had me as your photographer! I appreciate it! One day, I may be back. Who knows? Cheers!

Be grateful for all that you have. Even in hard times you can find something to be grateful for. Family, health, friends, homeschool co-op, books, clothes, food, home, kisses from my daughters and more. These are what I’m grateful for. What are you grateful for this season?

I am in Dallas for a few days if you need any family pictures. Christmas Day pictures are a great way to document your family. Everyone is together and there’s no need to coordinate everyone’s schedule. All you need are 15 minutes to get a few good shots.

I’ll be back in FL before New Years (another fun time to get some pictures...maybe even engagement photos)

Happy belated Saint Lucia Day! We weren’t able to celebrate it this year but last year I did a fun photoshoot with my girls and also celebrated with the homeschool co-op I run.

Who else celebrates Saint Lucia Day? In the south it’s practically unheard of unless there are transplants from the Midwest.

This is mostly a Scandinavian tradition but Lucia was from Sicily and died in 303 A.D. She has been venerated by the Catholic Church. She was only 20 years old at the time of her martyrdom. Nobody really knows how the celebration and story made its way from Sicily all the way to the Scandinavian countries. Some speculate that the Vikings brought the story north with them. Go read her story, it’s remarkable.

From my other posts, you’ve seen that I was at the beach a few weeks ago. The husband of the family told he he loves pelicans and there was one right on the beach that day. I got a few good shots but this one is my favorite.

I might need to frame this one just for my walls at home.

This past weekend I had a little photobooth at my local coffee shop for their Sip and Shop event. I actually had two booths! I do embroidery and watercolor paintings on the side so I made almost 200 items! You can see some of my other work at .hollowtree

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Is the day, I’ll be having a booth at for their second Sip and Shop event for Small Business Saturday. I’ve three car loads all ready to haul over in the morning to set up.

A classic Floridian portrait session is in the books!

I can’t believe this year is almost over. It’s been almost 2 years since we moved to Florida. I’m so glad we did! It’s been hard for sure but the friends and places I’ve been have been amazing.

Lately I have been working on a fine art project called Lingering Light. I took these in Florida at dusk. These are 24x12 and 24x16. They are printed on Hahnemule Fine Art Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper and have a UV protective coating. The frames are both museum grade. They are $250+.

These will make excellent gifts especially for Christmas 😉
