Every story, every moment that danced around me. Such a journey. Such a path. There is a unique spirit of support in a birth room- it’s so ethereal. I was sharing some words with an expectant mother who was asking for advice, worrying she’d done something wrong to harm her unborn baby (she hadn’t) and I thought someone else might need to hear this too.

I feel like, looking back, as someone that’s had a healthy baby (who is now 10) and as someone who has lost one, 90% of learning to become a mama is learning how to manage the fear and the guilt that come wrapped in those packages.

It is hard. It feels impossible to carry the weight of that some days. But it is important soul growing work and your doing it! Be as gentle as you can with yourself, find ways to reset your nervous system after bouts of guilt and fear, and keep doing things that send signals to your body that allow for that peace to flow back in.

The fear and guilt are not flaws, just tools you will learn to wield as you go. Turning that self judgment into self confidence in your intuition is a beautiful path to walk down no matter how treacherous it feels.

I want to let you all know, what an absolute honor it has been to serve you in this space. My heart and mind will always be full of the magic we held in these shared moments.

That you allowed me to hold you, to create art with you, to honor your stories in this way, will always be one of my absolute favorite parts of my story.

On this Christmas Eve, I am remembering each of you with such light and fondness. Dear mothers, you are so deeply loved. By one small heart that shared one small moment in your stories. So so loved. 🤍

Life has brought me in a new direction. This was my forever work. But some forevers are shorter then others. ✨

My clients have all been connected with back up photographer partnerships and are taken care of.

I have physically been unable to do this work for the last two years, with a few exceptions,
during good seasons. But it became harder and harder on my body. 

And after sitting with my options and feelings for the last two years over this, I have officially accepted that I have to shift focus. Maybe birth work will call me back one day, mabe in form of teaching. But for for now I’m just cheering you all on from the sidelines, focusing on my health, my art, my poetry, and setting the cameras and wisdom aside.

This work has been everything. It is bittersweet to see this ending but I have so much peace surrounding it. I still have stories and magic to share in this space, so stick around.

I have major spinal surgery on October 24th, and being out of work the past two years has taken its toll.
 I need to purchase several assistive devices, for the long and hard recovery I’m facing.
My husband will also be unable to work some of his jobs, while I’m in recovery, as I will need assistance with almost everything.
