For years now, Janie has been an instrumental part of my business. When she wasn't watching my kiddos so that I could be photographing a session she was shooting right by my side at countless weddings. We have had such a blast, shared many laughs, eaten a great deal of wedding cake and made more memories than I can count. What fun it was last week to turn the tables and get her in front of my camera. I can't wait for her Graham's big day this fall! Congrats you two love birds! :)

SO much thought was put into every last detail of Sarah and Sam's wedding day. What a blast to photograph it all!

It just made sense that Sarah and Sam's wedding would the last wedding I would shoot in my career. After all, everyone wants to go out with a bang, right? Ever since I have been in this industry, I have lusted after the Mayowood Barn in Rochester. I've ALWAYS wanted to shoot there. It's hard to believe that such an amazing gem of a location exists in our neck of the woods. Much to my delight, this was the setting for this beautiful couple's big day. I was like a kid in a candy store shooting this place. Everywhere you turned was texture and beauty and amazing light and Sarah and Sam were up for all of it! There are about a bazillion more beautiful images to come...but I've made this poor bride wait over a week for her sneak peek. So enough is enough! Enjoy!

You know it was a good wedding when the weather was perfection, the hours flew by like minutes and even the photographer cried during the toasts. So many more good images to come! Congrats Suzie and Justin!

Friends! Clearing way in the studio means clearing out old samples that hung on my walls. There are mounted prints (smaller ) and even some canvas and stand out mounts. Some of these go way back, which means that I can't even remember who's sweet face is who's. Others I would know instantly! Either which way, I would love for each of these to make its way back into the home of the subject (absolutely free of course). Please feel free to tag folks that you recognize and comment or message me for pick up. Enjoy!

Approximately 10 years ago, my husband and I moved (back) to Winona. Settling in, with a baby in-tow, we began our life here. Shortly thereafter I combined one of my greatest passions with my career path and started Capturing Moments Photography. It has been a remarkable 10 years. A decade where I’ve grown in my craft and had the pleasure of documenting life’s greatest moments for so many of you.

And so, it is with mixed emotions, that I announce that I will stepping back from my business.

This was a very hard decision, as I love what I do and I love who I work with (YOU!). However, that one baby I had 10 years ago is now joined by 3 siblings and many foster siblings (coming and going through our door). The sweet faces pictured below are busy and involved and running in a million different directions at once. I wear many hats for them including mom, cab driver, coach, etc. I only get this time with them once and I knew that I could no longer balance the needs of my business with the needs of my kids, while doing either of them justice. Going further, I knew in my heart that I would never regret dedicating more time for our family.

With that being said, I am still looking forward to the handful of shoots that are already scheduled for 2017 as well as some amazing weddings that I have in the books. If you have a gift certificate for CMP I am thrilled to still honor it through this year. I will be leaving my page and website live for the time being (who knows, you may see me back someday). Look forward to information on sales of some of my inventory, props and gear.

I want to thank ALL of you for supporting me and trusting me with the privilege of photographing your lives. We’ve had one heck of a run, huh?

Thanks again, Tammy

See that little man on the left? After the last click of the session he ran right up to me as fast as he could and said, "Hey Tammy! TAMMY! Know what? You're the best!"

And then my heart exploded a little bit.
