My first Milkyway galaxy picture!

We got home the other night and I noticed the Milkyway right over our front yard so I whipped out my camera and tripod and took this 13 second exposure with my 35mm pointed straight up! It amazes me how the stars look like someone just threw a bunch of glitter up into the sky! What a wonderful world we live in!

I am so excited to share that I was invited to collaborate with Joyfolie on a project recently to photograph their beautiful dresses! I decided to incorporate some live monarch butterflies as well to add a little whimsy! Thanks so much to my models and DFW Butterfly Release for jumping right in and being so easy and fun to work with!

Motion, water, and light make for some interesting photos! The sweet thing about shooting at noon in direct sunlight is you can really turn your shutter speed up and freeze the moment. Water crystalizes into glass beads in mid-air! Love these vibes!

Images like these make my heart happy. I love the way the sunlight dances with my subjects and illuminates them. I love photos that look like memories. I love summer all in bloom.

I FINALLY GOT MY FIRST HUMMINGBIRD SHOT!!!

Life is busy. Homeschool. Nursing. Photography. Keeping house. Wash rinse repeat.

But I started a personal daily photo project that has forced me to slow down a little bit--appreciate God's beautiful artwork around us in the every day moments.

I sat for 20 minutes with my camera aimed at the feeder and waited. This guy landed for a split second and was gone as soon as my shutter clicked but my goodness! When I pulled this image up on my computer and saw the detail in his feathers, the catchlight in his eyes, I was amazed!

If you look closely you can almost see God's fingerprints in each feather.
