That Ring Deserves Its Own Photoshoot! šŸ’

This was an intimate, elopement-style wedding, so we didnā€™t have the extra time for all of our usual detail shotsā€”including our favorite ring photos off the hand. But we still wanted to give them a few different ways to show off that gorgeous ring!

We love creating a variety of ring images because everyone has a different favorite style. Sometimes itā€™s the classic shot on the hand, sometimes itā€™s a close-up detail, and sometimes itā€™s something completely different.

Honestly, even Iā€™m impressed by the magic we pulled out of that chaos. šŸ˜‚

Proof that sometimes the photographer isnā€™t controlling the chaosā€¦ weā€™re just really good at making it LOOK like we did. šŸ˜šŸ¶

There was barking, moving, sniffing, distractions, and approximately 47 moments where I thought, ā€œWellā€¦ this should be interesting.ā€ šŸ¤£

But thatā€™s the magic of pet photography. You embrace the chaos, keep shooting, and somehow in between all the crazinessā€¦ you catch the good stuff. ā¤ļøšŸ¶

And honestly? The crazier the behind-the-scenes looks, the more impressive the final photos are. šŸ˜‚šŸ“ø

When the kid decides weā€™ve taken enough picturesā€¦ šŸ˜‚

Just kiddingā€¦ but seriously, it was hot as $&@?! at this session šŸ˜‚ We were all ready to be done at this point!

And honestly, kids are usually the first ones to show you their true faces. Most adults are pretty good at putting on a brave face, smiling through the heat, discomfort, or whatever else is going on and pretending everything is fine.

Kids? Nope. šŸ˜‚

Theyā€™ll let you know EXACTLY what theyā€™re thinking. No filter. No pretending. Just, ā€œI am hot, I am tired, and we are DONE.ā€

And sometimes that honesty makes for some of the best behind-the-scenes pictures. ā¤ļøšŸ“ø

There are a LOT of backside photos of me floating around in the archives. šŸ˜‚

A lot of the time, Iā€™m up there actually posing the couples, but sometimes Iā€™m just giving them the rundown of the next three shots weā€™re going to do.

I like to tell couples ahead of time whatā€™s coming so when I run back into position, I can prompt them with something fun instead of making every single photo feel heavily posed.

And apparently, Rob is REALLY good at documenting the back of my headā€¦ and my butt. šŸ˜‚

So I hope yā€™all like my butt, because youā€™re gonna see a lot of it. šŸ¤£šŸ“ø

As the couple is walking back down the aisle, weā€™ll stop them for just one more kiss.

Itā€™s one of the few opportunities we get to photograph the couple with their entire ceremony space and all of their guests behind them. It gives you a completely different perspective of the momentā€”and I absolutely love seeing the room, the people, and all those little reactions happening in the background.

And hereā€™s why we call it a ā€œposed candidā€:

I literally just say, ā€œStop and kiss.ā€

Thatā€™s it. šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m not telling them where to put their hands, how to stand, how to kiss, or what to do next. Whatever happens after that is completely them.

So yes, technically I posed themā€¦ but the moment itself? Totally theirs.

And honestly, those are some of my favorite kinds of photographs. ā¤ļø
