Part One of Two:
Turn Park Art Space hosted a summer art festival in West Stockbridge, MA. The property itself was an old quarry that was transformed by a very creative team into an amphitheater, museum, and sculpture trail on seven acres. A trail even leads to the rooftop of the museum for another perspective of the days event.
I only stayed for a short time, but the event started in the late afternoon with and went into the evening. Besides the contemporary sculpture trail, the property had many beautiful natural features and abundant wildflowers. Upon arrival, I was greeted by curious characters. Guests then experienced multi-faceted performances combining art and dance, with electronic sounds, storytelling and traditional instruments.
I loved how the entire park was incorporated into all the segments performed.
In a yurt, I was treated to a story from a mystical creature with a theme that we are all connected. (I actually had some happy tears at that moment.)
It was another from adventure for this crone with a camera.
