Walking through the Monte Rio Redwoods is pretty incredible. These forests were heavily logged starting in the 1880s, but today, thanks to regional preservation and local stewardship, these trails offer an escape through second- and third-growth giants stand side-by-side with ancient old-growth survivors.

Hiked up to the top of the Islands in the Sky Trail expecting floating mountain peaks and a dreamy sea of fog... only to find clear skies and unbroken views! From the iconic Union Hotel clock to the steeple of the 1876 Community Church framed by early fall color, every corner has a story to tell.

Sometimes the best studio is simply a dirt path under a tree canopy. Nice to wander the trails at Shiloh Ranch Regional Park... just a constant reminder of how much natural beauty surrounds us right here in Sonoma County.

Long before Shiloh Ranch Regional Park became a sanctuary for hikers and wildlife, this land was a working cattle ranch in the late 1800s—and before that, home to the indigenous Pomo people who cared for these oak woodlands for generations. Today, every turn along the path offers both a piece of history and a breathtaking view of the valley below.
