Walking through the Monte Rio Redwoods is pretty incredible. Hiked up to the top of the Islands in the Sky Trail expecting floating mountain peaks and a dreamy sea of fog... only to find clear skies and unbroken views! Turns out the "islands" were on vacation last weekend, but the views of Sonoma County’s rolling hills and coastal ridges were well worth it. Plus, catching horseback riders along the trail was an added bonus.
