Entwined Souls Photography & Childbirth Education

Entwined Souls Photography & Childbirth Education Hi there, and thanks for stopping by! I'm Jessica, the owner of Entwined Souls Photography. I have always loved art.

I’m a natural light professional portrait photographer with a specialty in newborn, maternity, birth and babies through 2 years of age. I have spent the past decade photographing, studying, and educating myself in portrait photography. When I was younger I secretly wished that I could draw and paint. It wasn’t until High School when I realized that the silly camera I was always playing with could

also create beautiful art. I studied photography and art history in college working towards a degree in art history. Around that time I also started to work for the awesome Christine Racz at Racz Photography. Through working with her I was able to not only learn so much and grow so much as a photographer but I was also able to fine tune my skills in post-production work. It was also where my passion for newborn and maternity photography grew.

Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day!

I know this day can be a challenge for so many, so if you happen to be,

a Child who has lost their Mother,
a Child with a hard or strained relationship with your Mother,
Someone who longs for the day that they become a Mother,
or anyone else feeling alone.

Please know that you are especially in my thoughts today. ❤️

"In all cultures, the midwife's place is on the threshold of life, where intense human emotions, fear, hope, longing, triumph, and incredible physical power-enable a new human being to emerge. Her vocation is unique. " - Sheila Kitzinger

Today is International Day of the Midwife. If you have ever been loved on and cared for by a midwife you will know just how important they truly are. I have had both the privilege of being cared for by midwives and documenting the love, strength, softness and support they provide.

How fitting that 2020 also be The Year of the Midwife as now more than ever midwives around the world are stepping up to be "with woman" and support them during these trying times. If you know a midwife send them some love today, and maybe some coffee. 😉

3 years ago today I gave birth to my second and last baby. It is a day I will treasure for the rest of my life. I finally wrote out his birth story and have shared it on my blog along with the beautiful photos taken by my dear friend Christine at Racz Photography.

I woke up the morning of April 16th feeling like I was getting sick. My body was achy and tired and I felt like getting out of bed was impossible. Thankfully my daughter was more than happy to snuggle in bed most of he morning. I had no appetite for most of the day and the only thing that sounded go

While my little ones were outside playing in the yard I decided that I too should make time for play. It's not perfect but it felt so good it itch that part of my brain.

Have you worked on something creative while stuck at home the past few weeks?

Now more than ever couples getting ready to give birth need a quality childbirth education. Maybe you were planning on taking a birth class at the hospital but that was canceled. Maybe you were planning on using a Doula but now they may not be allowed to attend your birth with you. Maybe you are now considering birthing outside of the hospital setting. Plans might need to change and it might seem scary but you can still have an amazing birth. By taking one of my hybrid childbirth series, parents can get the education they need to navigate these uncertain times while still staying at home.

The Birth Boot Camp curriculum offers expectant parents a modern, up to date, evidence based education. Developed with the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative in mind and endorsed by top birth professional including Martha and Dr. Sears, Birth Boot Camp prepares BOTH partners physically, mentally, and emotionally for birth and life with their new baby.

As a nation and as a community we are facing very uncertain times. My hope and goal is that you will leave your class feeling completely prepared, informed, and empowered for your birth experience and new baby.
