Brides — your ceremony time can make or break your wedding photos.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the biggest tips I give my couples when planning their wedding timeline is to schedule the ceremony about 1–2 hours before sunset. This is when the light is soft, even, and incredibly flattering.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Midday ceremonies might feel convenient, but the sun is usually harsh and directly overhead. That can lead to squinting and uneven lighting — like one of you standing in bright sun while the other is in shadow. Not exactly the look you’re dreaming of.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re working with a planner who knows your venue well, they can help you determine the best ceremony time. And if you’re doing a first look, many of your portraits can be taken earlier in the day so you don’t have to worry about losing daylight later on.
