Here’s our OG rabbit, Lyra. She’s been a great mom, produced some excellent, fast growing kits, and while she has smaller litters she’s been great about nursing overflow when the other girls have more kits than they can keep fed.
As our first, there were mistakes… tried TS feed for the first month or so and probably stunted her growth. I think she’s close to 9 lbs though. And we went too long between breedings which may have led to smaller and smaller litters she’s had. Past couple of tries, she’s delivered 3, then 2, then 1.
I let her best doe go to another breeder, thinking there would certainly be another. We did get another doe, but not a George & Lyra doe 😭 Still trying for one more. Last attempt didn’t take but it was a month ago and George may have been too heat stressed.
Paired the two again yesterday. Here’s hoping for one more George & Lyra doe. Meanwhile, I’ll be reaching out to Eddie’s (Edna) owner to try and get a doe from Lyra’s best offspring 🤞
