A quick gallery housekeeping reminder 🤍
I’ve had an influx of requests recently to locate and re-upload older galleries, so I wanted to share a reminder about gallery availability and photo storage!
Your online gallery is the way I deliver your finished photographs to you, but it is not intended to serve as permanent photo storage.
Gallery availability after delivery:
• Regular sessions, headshots & branding — 90 days
• Birth galleries — 6 months
• Elopements — 6 months
• Weddings — 12 months
Once your gallery is delivered, please download your full gallery and create your own backups. After the gallery availability period has ended, I cannot guarantee that your images will remain available for retrieval.
I take additional precautions with wedding galleries and maintain archival backups as part of my workflow. However, even with those precautions, my archive should never replace your own long-term backup of your photographs.
If an expired gallery is still available for retrieval, a $75 archival retrieval + gallery reactivation fee will apply. Reactivated galleries will remain online for 30 days.
Retrieving an expired gallery means locating the archived files, preparing and re-uploading the gallery, and providing another period of online hosting. While one gallery may not seem like much, multiple requests can quickly turn into several hours of additional work behind the scenes.
I’ve been happy to re-upload many older galleries as a courtesy, especially while transitioning gallery systems earlier this year. Going forward, the $75 retrieval and reactivation fee will apply to expired galleries.
