“Night Shift” - 2 piece Striped Bass Gyotaku Print - Now Available
Surfcasting for striped bass in the North Atlantic is an endless pursuit that can hardly be put into words , just understood by those that embark. I’m just blessed I’ve been able to experience it — This piece means a lot to me. It represents all the late nights, the tide switches, the new moons , the Milky Way pours & debatable ufo sightings & of course the hook sets.
I caught this bass June 2022 , surf casting Nantucket Island on the night shift. It was 34” which at the time was in slot . Didn’t have paper big enough for it so I ended up two piecing it . fish tacos were enjoyed by friends & myself the following day.
Very often with gyotaku it’s normal to touch up the print and add linework to really bring out detail. My favorite part of this piece is it’s all in raw form. No lines were drawn or painted after the original gyotaku, just the eyes which I hand painted in.

Printed on a dye-sublimated aluminum medium . All sizes available , to ensure it’s a custom fit to your desired wall space . Also, they look great vertically oriented & either half is available on its own.
