Question for those with military or maritime knowledge:

I noticed a fairly large concentration of military vessels off the North Carolina coast on MarineTraffic today. Many appear to be from Spain, along with a few from countries like France, Turkey, Morocco, and possibly other NATO members.

I know it’s common for the U.S. military to conduct joint training exercises and war games with allied nations, so I’m wondering if that’s what’s going on here.

I’m genuinely asking for educational purposes only, I’m not trying to imply that something bad is happening or stir up rumors. If anyone has insight into why there are so many foreign naval vessels in the area, I’d love to learn more.
