Wrightsville Beach gave us one of those beautifully unexpected evenings with cool, cloudy skies, soft light, and an Atlantic Ocean so calm it looked more like a lake.

The backdrop is always changing along our coast, and I love capturing all of its beautiful variations. This session was especially meaningful as we celebrated this sweet little one’s first birthday and captured the announcement that their family is growing.

One beautiful year celebrated and a brand new chapter beginning. Such a special season for this family!

Sweet Theo 🤍

There is something so special about photographing a new baby at home, surrounded by the people who love him most. Theo’s session was full of quiet snuggles, tiny details, sleepy expressions, and so much love between him and his mamas.

We created a beautiful mix of gently posed portraits and relaxed lifestyle images, preserving both how perfectly tiny he is and what these first days together truly feel like.

These early weeks pass so quickly, but every little detail deserves to be remembered.

We fought the weather for this one, and the skies gave us the tiniest break to make it happen.

Twenty-one family members had traveled from out of town to spend time together on North Topsail Beach, with Grandma at the center of it all. Rescheduling everyone wasn’t exactly simple, so we watched the radar, stayed flexible, and made the most of the window we were given.

We captured the entire family together, each individual family, siblings, couples, grandchildren, and so many of the relationships connecting them.

The skies may not have been perfect, but having everyone together was what truly mattered. I’m so glad we were able to preserve this time for them.

A North Topsail vacation, the whole family together, and an evening by the water.

This sweet family traveled from out of state, making their beach session the perfect way to preserve this trip.

The posed portraits matter, but so do the laughs between them, sandy feet, sibling moments, and the way being together feels right now.

Getting to document the moments after this sweet girl’s birth was already such an honor, but being welcomed into their home to photograph her newborn session made it even more special.

Her two big sisters were so proud of her, and I loved capturing this new chapter for their family, the snuggles, the tiny details, and all the love surrounding their newest little girl.

This is one of my favorite parts of photographing birth and newborn stories: getting to watch a family grow and preserve more than just one moment along the way.

One of my favorite parts of an evening session at Serenity Point is watching the entire backdrop change right in front of us.

We started with soft coastal light over the water, and little by little, the sky shifted into the prettiest pinks and orange tones.

Same family. Same evening. A completely different feel as the session unfolded.

The sweetest kind of newborn session.

Baby snuggled in at home, tiny toes, slow moments with mom and dad, and of course the pups making sure they were part of it all too.
