May is Lupus Awareness Month, and today we want to introduce you to an absolute warrior: Moné Smith. 💜
At just 18 years old, Moné was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Then, at age 32, she faced another life-altering challenge: severe hearing loss.
But if you ask Moné, her story isn't one of defeat. It’s one of ultimate victory and unshakeable faith. Today, she is profoundly grateful for a second chance to hear again through Cochlear implants.
When she asked, "Why me?", the answer she received was life-changing: "Why not you? You are definitely the woman for this job!" 🙌✨
Deafness required adaptation, but it couldn't stop the plan for her life. Moné may have lost her hearing, but she never lost her faith, and she is winning every single day.

It’s not just product photography, it’s the full creative vision.

One of my favorite brands I get to work with is . Creating great work for clients is one thing, but knowing your client will use ALL that great work is an even better thing.

Allow me to break it down:

Through the years I have had people wonder what my secret was to my work and how I was able to get so much international visibility being in rural NC. My secret is create work so good that your clients become billboards for your creativity and unique style. All of my early viral moments and major publication features included this brand in one way or another.

This shows me that we feed off of each other creatively and it’s beneficial for us both. Over 9 years , tons of creative concepts, multiple viral moments, and even Art exhibitions we continue to create magic together.

Having clientele that allow full creative development and freedom is also a mental health hack. I get to release it all behind the lens. Getting booked so I can release my full creative energy is a flex, but also a blessing in this economy 💪🏾

Sometimes it’s more than the work, it’s about what’s behind the work 📸

As someone who’s lived only in small towns I can truly relate to this voiceover.Everything is that much more difficult in a small town including algorithm visibility. FYI: Geotagging in smaller areas can actually stunt your reach.

I’m learning that while the work is important, the making of the work is what gets the people going. Video content goes far these days. How is your work flow? How is your energy on set? How will you capture the clients vision?

Being able to show that is you breaking down your process and could be the difference in you getting booked. Put that tripod to use and show yourself putting in that work 📸💪🏾
