"First and Finest"VMFA-231 Ace of Spades getting a few flights in on the factory fresh birds. Very cool to have them back in the fold with the almighty F-35B! Even a little through the moon overhead for ya!

VMFA-115 Silver Eagles. This would be my 2nd post featuring them as F-35C Squadron. Wonderful to see them in the lightning. and now at Cherry Point as the 2nd East Coast 2nd F-35C squadron.

This week we say so long to TAV-8B BuNo 164122! This TAV was one of the first I had caught in the wild with its time at VMAT-203 and the final TAV I photographed from VMA-223 Bulldogs. This aircraft's story began December 20th of 1990 and ended at the Harrier Sundown June 3rd of 2026. Countless Marines who have flown the Harrier trained in this airframe and even quite a few lucky soles got incentive rides in her as well toward the final days. Thankfully due to the joint efforts this beautiful example of the TAV-8B will now forever live at the Hickory Aviation Museum along with 164560 AV-8B II! They will be the first to not only have the TAV-8B and the AV-8B from the last batches of Harriers going out for display but THE first to have them indoors! Follow Hickory Aviation Museum to find out when this aircraft will be ready for your viewing pleasure. Until then here is a humble album of BuNo 164122's days with VMAT-203 and her final days/flight with VMA-223.

First and Finest!
As of October 10th 2026 at 1300 hours VMFA-231 Ace of Spades are officially back in business. Although the first flight took place on June 4th of 2026 now the squadron is formally back in action. I had a great time getting the final years of VMA-231 and having even more fun capturing the uprising of VMFA-231.

P-51 Gunfighter for Mustang Monday! 1944 Built P-51 providing rides at Wilmington International Airport (ILM) recently along with Doc B-29. Wonderful to see warbirds at ILM once again!

B-29 Doc at Wilmington International Airport (ILM) last weekend. What a wonderful sight in he skies over Coastal Carolina. I feel very fortunate to have seen both flying B-29's at Wilmington International airport as of last weekend.

ATAC F1 Mirages departing to get some work down with F-35s in the Warning Area rising up in foggy conditions.. ATAC being Airborne Tactical Advantage Company whose birds are flown by former Military Aviators to spar and help sharpen the sword with current Military Aviators. ATAC operates F1's,Hawker Hunters,KFIR's and L-39's.

VFC-12 Fighting Omars just stopped by some quick gas at Wilmington International Airport after playing red air in the Wh***ey 1-22. My first time catching them at ILM though I have seen them a few times at various bases around East NC.
