Here’s to the nicer days at the beach. If anyone was at a Chicagoland beach this past week it was a disaster of flies. I cannot even start to explain the plague of flies that met my session on Wednesday. Luckily it was a senior boy and he rolled it off his back and we shot through it all. But man even when I ran into the water they followed me. It was an experience I never want upon anyone. By my Friday session they had chilled out. There were still some stragglers biting me but mostly stayed away from my family thankfully. Hoping by tomorrow’s session and the cooler weather they are all done with this nonsense.

I had my first pumpkin drink today in 95 degree weather while my daughter was calling me telling me to come get her from her volunteer gig because she thought she might pass out from the heat (I didn’t blame her). TBF it was an ice pumpkin latte. But man today made me crave sweater weather more than ever. Give me those vests. Give me those hats. Give me those fleece lined boots. Instead we have hot hot hot and rain rain rain coming.

Wilmette is one of those places that is lucky to have so many options for photo set ups. Even the waterfront has different locales to try out for photos. Gillson south beach, the sailing beach, elmwood dunes, even the dog beach. I mean true I tend to steer clear of the swimming beach during the summer but pre mem day and post Labor Day it can be good fun too.

We said summer was over. And then summer said hold my b**r. It’s going to be a high of 95 this week the first of September. So I don’t think summer is done with us quite yet.

I read that August is the Sunday of summer. It’s the end of the lake house weekends. It’s the sunset of beach picnics. Close of the long night gatherings. So here’s to these final moments winding down. Enjoy them before pumpkin season rolls in.

A photo an hour a day. This was an idea from a friend to send to each other but when I did it nothing was reciprocated after the first three hours so I decided to just keep doing it for myself for a reel after that. Of course it took two days of trying because the first day I forgot after about 6 hours. And TBH today was pretty rough because I was being social and stopping g to take a selfie while I’m being social is a little awkward. But here is a day in the life. Kinda.

Even though I live in Wilmette, Most of my seniors tend to be from Libertyville or Stevenson. Not sure why my New Trier teens don’t seem to take up on this opportunity to focus on them but I love when I get them. Just look at the cool places we can capture. I said it before. But I’ll say it again. I’m loving this class and their style! Bring me more!!

Families with older kids need sessions too. They change just as much as the little kids these days. I can’t believe how much they grow year to year and each time I’m like. Wow they are almost adults. And then the next year I’m like nope. Last year they were babies. This year they’re almost adults. I’m sure the don’t get tired of me saying it too 🤣
