It's been 11 years since this world has lost its magical painter of music.... Yet, you have not left us even for one day, Maestro.... Somehow, your soul stayed, your heart, your music... But June has always a wistful longing scent as it begins...
It's June and I put on Balto... 4 cues into the score... the tears find their way from the core of my being to my face.. It sounds Russian after all.... It's a Horner story after all...Then I listen to "The Journey Begins"... One of so many Horner masterpieces named "Journey".... But whose journey is it really?? You have taken us everywhere, Maestro... Above all, to the sacred realm of emotions... a journey deep into our inner self... A journey to discover the magical world of art and its connection to humanity, culture, nature, and love....
The next album for the wistful June is "The Man Without A Face".... Two cues into the score.... I encounter a familiar piano solo that vibrates the heartstrings... "Chuck's First Lesson"... One of Maestro's many first lessons that he wrote when the student gets emotionally connected to the tutor for the first time....I remember that this movie and album first made me a Horner fan... Maybe this very track... And I ask myself whose first lesson was it really??...
Maestro, for us, every track is a first lesson... Every note is a journey.... As we connect to our tutor of emotions and discover our instinctive love for beauty and art all over again... As we find the nuances of our sensitivity in the eb and flow of your music... And as we find "you", in our identity, childhood, and being.... There's no good bye Maestro, only love...
