“Friends, I’m ready to share a health update that I’ve kept between my family and close friends for almost 3 months.
Here’s the bad news right out of the gate: I am a part of the 15% and my cancer has returned.
The good news: it’s VERY treatable and there’s no need to be doom and gloom and start planning my funeral. 😆
My team has been so wonderful giving me treatment options and helping me with my 2nd and 3rd opinions (MD Anderson in Houston being one of them). All have been working together for my care and I’m also working with the integrative team at MD Anderson who are ALL rockstars. There is so much hope in this diagnosis and I want you all to know that!
A fear of mine was that I would share this and immediately people would think the worst and pity me and my family. I truly do not want ANYONE to go there. Please, for me. I know cancer is scary, but it’s not the end. We have a God who is so gracious and loving and is giving me everything I need to beat this again! He is right here with me and at the finish line all at the same time.
I have every reason to believe that I will be fully healed in Jesus name! I’m asking the big, bold prayers for complete healing from head to toe, while also FULLY trusting God’s perfect plan for my life. If this is the way He eventually calls me home, I’m FULLY okay with that as well, because I’ll be home with Jesus, but He’s been very, very clear that I’m not done.
In my distress, through the Holy Spirit, God spoke to me in the loving way only He can to remind me, “I made you promises and I cannot break them.” It was the peace, love, and joy I needed and continue to cling to. He is SO good and faithful y’all.
I know that this is just another assignment from the Lord. Through this journey, I know God will call me to draw more people to His son, Jesus. I am honored.
