One fun thing about preparing for a photoshoot is that I sometimes find a forgotten memory card in my camera. It's kind of like finding money in a jacket pocket that hasn't been worn for months.

I just went through this card, and discovered shots from our trip to Chincoteague Island last fall...and what good memories were there. WIth a few cell shots at the beginning from our little houseboat while there.

Captions later, as I have to get off to a shoot, but enjoy!

I keep attempting to be retired, but the universe seems to have other plans. All good...and just booked a series of photo classes with our town's Rec Department for next May. Yes, 2026! :)

Hello friends and followers,

I rarely enter photo/popularity contests, but this one was too good to resist. Voting begins tomorrow, and I'd appreciate you all going on, every day, to cast a vote for my "Sunrise at Footbridge Beach" photo. Voting continues throughout July, and the grand prize is $20,000...$10K to the winner, and $10K to the American Cancer Society. Should I win, and odds are incredibly low, my share would go to the Covenant Soup Kitchen via the Bread Box Theater in Willimantic. The need is intense, and I'd be thrilled to help in such an amazing way. Here's the link for voting...beginning on July 4th!! THANKS!!

Please vote for my photo in the America’s Favorite Photos competition:

Day 6 on our 'Tulips and Windmills' tour with Viking was a long but wonderful day. We did a full day walking tour of Medieval Bruges...with LOTS of steps on the Fitbit! We had three hours to ourselves mid-day so we could find a nice place for lunch and explore on our own. Our ship moved ports twice while we were away, but the bus got us all to our evening destination. There was a special dinner that night - Taste of Holland - since we were headed to Bruinesse that evening. The crew had special shirts that simulated historical costumes, and spirits were high...oh, and they topped it off with some of the crew singing to me and bringing a special cake for my upcoming birthday, thanks to Theresa our table mate for many of our lunches and dinners! Once again, most of the tour pics are on my cell so will show up on my personal page...soon. :)

Day 5 of our 'Tulips and Windmills' tour via Viking River Cruises. We sailed overnight into Belgium, and spent a half day doing a walking tour of Antwerp, one of the world's major seaports. Diamonds and chocolates are what they're most known for now...we sampled some chocolates and enjoyed the medieval architecture, but left the diamonds for those who love bling! But, my pics are all on my cell phone for this trip, so I'll post on my personal page.

We returned to the ship for lunch, and later Mark went off in search of a good Belgian beer. My feet were happy to just sit out on our veranda of our stateroom, and let me read a bit. We ha a wonderful 'enrichment lecture' that evening by a lovely young man who talked about life in Belgium today. Martin, our cruise director, also gave a port talk for tomorrow, which will be a big day - a full day walking tour of Bruges. Can't wait for that - but pics from there are on the cell phone, too, so be sure to check my personal page as it was spectacular! After a few days, I got tired of lugging the mirrorless body and big lens. :)

Day 4 of our Viking River 'Tulips and Windmills' Tour...this was the day when the name began to live up to itself. After a morning presentation on Dutch Water Management and life in the lowlands, we were driven by bus to this amazing village of Kinderdjik. "Kinderdjik is most known for its remarkably preserved 18th century windmills. The charming hamlet is located amid low-lying polders, tracts of land reclaimed from the sea by the power of the windmills and enclosed by embankments, or dikes." It really was a fascinating tour...and then we returned to the ship in time for a Belgian Teatime and Waffle Demonstration, which was wonderful. What a day!!

These are mostly unedited files from the Canon R10...too many to spend time editing, and some had already been posted on my personal page from my cell camera!
