Today marks one month that I received the news π. I knew this day would come eventually but not so soon and you can never be prepared for the heartache that follows. I rest easy knowing you are no longer in pain. You battled valiantly, like a true !!!
How does one encapsulate the life of one so very extraordinary. Frank was a man of deep abiding faith. He was a brilliant lawyer. Everyone that knew him agrees, he was the smartest person you would ever meet (no exaggeration). Frank was funny, thoughtful, kind, generous and so very humble. He was passionate about history - he would quote the Gettysburg address as part of his physical therapy.
Frank looked forward to when we were together because we would binge watch our favorite shows (GoT, NCIS, Ozark, Yellowstone and more). He was a proud graduate of Notre Dame Law School SCELF, which meant watching Notre Dame Football π.
I always told Frank, that he was truly the richest person I knew. Not because of material wealth, but because of his relationships with family & friends. But most especially friendships, he maintained beautifully deep & long lasting friendships that spanned decades (what a testament). This from someone that wasnβt on any social media platforms. In todayβs world that is truly remarkable β€οΈ.
Frank never complained about his MS, but he didnβt lay down passively, he fought tooth and nail every single day and he did it with & . I was always learning with Frank, after all, how could you not with someone so brilliant. The most important thing I learned from him to NEVER take for granted my health especial my physical health. Towards the end, MS may have robbed Frank of many things but it could not rob him of his brilliant mind and in classic Frank fashion, he worked until the very end. A life well lived, in spite of (inside joke).
I had the gift of Frank Sabatino for 8 years. He was my best friend and confidant. Whenever I would leave Frank for the evening, I would give him a kiss on his forehead and ask him to remember me in his prayers ππ». Itβs some of these tender moments with him I will miss most. Frank, I will love & cherish you always my dearest. βI Carry Your Heart (I Carry it in my Heart)β.
On Saturday, March 20th friends & family gathered to honor this beautiful human on what was the first day of πΊ . Soar on eagles wings Frank and watch over us all from above. π€π€π€
