Starting the new year off with my annual self-portrait session. I love the peacefulness of New Year's Day. Everything is still and quiet. A nice break from the rush of the holidays.

I've been doing these annual birthday photoshoots for 3 years now. It's always freezing with overcast skies and dreary, dull scenery, but it's a tradition I have grown to love, even when I'm in a creative slump. I am challenged as a photographer to put myself in a client's shoes. I am much more comfortable behind the camera than I am in front of it. My goal is to eventually become confident in posing myself so I can help my clients feel fearless during their sessions.

Here's to 2024! Happy New Year, everyone. 🎉
