I’ve really been dragging out the photos from my last trip up to AK, milking them for all they’re worth. Now that I have another AK trip in the books for April, I figure I better finish sharing the shots from last trip before the next trip starts!
ANYWAY, these are all shots from the tiny fishing town of Cordova, where .digest lives & it’s a total playground.

11th Edition of the Virtual Visit Series: Nepal
These photos are from a 2016 visit when .digest and I were blown away by the dramatic beauty around every turn of the Anna Purna Circuit we set out to do on a classically tight timeline.
Apart from Rita getting a gnarly bout of altitude sickness, we thoroughly enjoyed every thin-aired moment we spent in Nepal.

The most beautiful ski hill in the world is in a tiny fishing town in Alaska. Prove me wrong.
This is Mt. Eyak in Cordova, AK (where .digest lives.) It is a one-lift, single-chair, mountain surrounded by Backcountry paradise in the winter. In the summer, Mt. Eyak is home to Cordova's biggest (read: size of a small towns weekly farmers market) festival: Salmon Jam. Salmon Jam was at the base of this mountain last weekend and we had a salmon jammin time both at the festival and hiking up the hill.

11th Edition of the Virtual Visit Series: Colombia
Another country where a single visit hardly scratches the surface. One moment you're in a bustling city market and the next you're on top of a crater-summit surrounded by the alien-like paramos or deep in the Amazon searching for cayman in the middle of the night. We went from watching the incredibly silly gait of Jardín horses in the town square to being in awe of the horses capabilities on the steep terrain in Parque Los Nevados.
Everything about this country had us wanting to go back.

9th Edition of the Virtual Visit Series: Kenya
The animals of the Maasai Mara bookended by the Maasai people. The first photo is of the matriarch of a Maasai family and the final photo is of Nicholas, our safari guide, tossing a disc.
I was up close with a moose today and all giddy about it. In Kenya, that feeling was on steroids. .digest and I were like kids in a candy shop, completely overwhelmed by the excitement of being so close to animals we had only seen cartoon versions of in the Lion King. Our guides, Nicholas and Dickson made fun of us for being the most excitable people they had ever met. We were left wondering how anyone could react any other way to the constant parade of animals we were surrounded by every day.
