UPDATE: Stop the clock! Nova has been adopted!! 🥳

It's practically unheard of for a cat-friendly dog to spend 211 days waiting for a forever home, but that's sadly become one-and-a-half-year-old Nova's reality. We're not sure what the hangup is! Is it because she's deaf? Being deaf doesn't stop Nova from being able to understand her humans and communicate her affection for them! Is it because she's missing bones in her hind legs? It doesn't stop her from running, playing, and having fun! Perhaps Nova just hasn't reached the right person yet, and maybe this will help. 🤞

Click on the link in the comments to see Nova in all her cute, cuddly glory on today's episode of The Pawcast from LIVE 96.7! Her adoption fee has been generously sponsored by Sheehy Subaru Hagerstown! Give Nova a chance to win you over -- contact our Adoptions team at 301-733-2060 option 3 or [email protected] to set up a meet and greet with this sweet girl!

🐕: Nova has done well with other dogs. Bring yours to the meet and greet!
👫: Nova is a loving girl who would do best in a home with teens/adults.
🐈: Nova is currently living in a foster home with cats and does great with them even though they don't like her. We always recommend slow introductions.
🩺: Nova is 1 year 7 months old and weighs about 45 pounds. She's spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Nova is deaf and has a congenital birth condition where she's missing metatarsal bones in her hind legs.

Ready to go out and shoot with Humane Society of Washington County again for the 2026 Polar Bear Plunge!
Sadly, looks like no snow and ice for this year - I am sure that won't seem like a bad thing for the Plungers, but I liked having and ice shelf to sit on!
