The sea shore would be pretty darn plain without the assortment of birds of the Gulf. Seagulls are always photobombing my scenes in the best of ways. I played with some a couple days ago and had some fast friends for the time I was there. It only took one piece of popcorn to entice them to stay! LOL

No matter how you spend time at the beach, I can say it's always well spent with wildlife and friends! Thanks for joining me today while I bird watch.

Sea Oats are one of the coolest parts of the seascape to me. I love to play with them using their motion and the light from golden hour through sunsets as it makes them ever changing before my lens.

This one was moving gently the other night in the soft breeze and the sky was turning from blue to shades of purple and oranges; which you can see those oranges on the tiny seedpods in the shot.

Today marks the last day of summer and I am really excited to spend fall here and more so...winter! No more freezing/snowing and gusty winds rocking my camper! HA! Change is good! It's been one heck of a year and even through it all, I bent and never broke. Just like the oats before your eyes.

Hope you had a great day and thank you for spending the summer with me behind the lens. I can't wait to share my next season!

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I found an image that I captured that makes me think of one of my favorite landscape photographers last night. Waldorf Photography is the name of the photographer/visual artist that came to mind when I was editing this image I took. I have a lot to learn from their skills, but this one says I'm on the right track to me.

The soft tones and the way the lines pull you into this image and the way the dune stands out against the sky is amazing in it's own rite.

This is one of my all time favorite shots now. Sometimes I get to capture something that I've seen someone else do and it makes my artist eye smile.

So thank you for your art and inspiration, even if I have never met you in person. I saw your work years ago when I first came to Florida and have been a fan ever since.

Part of the journey is the P.A.T.H. we are all on. The place that we walk and live and exist. Each one of us has a distinct PATH we are on.

P. Possibility--Opens the door
A. Awareness--Helps you notice it
T. Trust--Gets you through it
H. Hope--Keeps you walking

Each day I have been given a little bit of a nudge to follow more close to my own path. I have been photographing nature and landscapes for years. It's the one place I keep coming back to and the one that I notice when I am out and about. It keeps me moving forward in my photography/business journey as well as my life in general as it has opened many doors for me through the years. I have seen sights that simply make my heart smile and my belly fill with a zillion, teeny, tiny, fluttering butterflies. I have met many people on that PATH and still to this day continue to meet amazing people while traveling this PATH I am on.

To you, my reader and appreciator of my art: thank you for being part of my life. Even if we never meet in person, I hope you know you are special to me and I am thankful for you! Whatever PATH you are on, may it be one that brings you to greater peace and understanding and may it touch others lives in a positive way.

okay...these two deserve their own post. The ripples and the gorgeous greenery that lines them and casts shadows on the sand was just too darned cool to ignore.

I look at the ripples in the sand and imagine a living creature with lines across its body that I am standing on without even knowing who or what it is that has allowed me passage on its terrain.

Yeah...I have too much fun imagining what could be when I see this stuff. That's okay, it's part of my creative process.

Last night we walked the edge of the dunes and I was caught up with the beauty of the sands wavy ripples at Opal Beach. The sand was perfection and I could not stop taking pictures of their geometric beauty all around. The textures and the light across the waves were amazing and ever changing as the sun began its descent towards the horizon that evening.

I'm so glad I got to go and spend time not only photographing the scenery, but also managed to swim a little in the Gulf. Always a great vibe. This week has been amazing for water clarity and calmness here.

Hope you had a great weekend (waving goodbye!)

Who else was at Opal Beach last night? Wasn't that sunset beautiful? The waves in the sand were magical as ever. I had to stop and play with the sea oats and sand for a moment as we walked and enjoyed the scenery. Happy Sunday Y'all. More to come...

We have a first. First time seeing the Blue Angels up close since living in Florida. We learned that the Blue Angel's were practicing this week when we had planned a trip to see the NAS Museum so we made sure to get there with plenty of time to see their practice (Sept. 15th 2026) and boy was it a blast.

I brought my camera in hopes to capture some cool shots, but had no idea (or expectation) if I would be able to pull it off. When I got the time to upload the files, I found that I had over 100 images that turned out pretty great. I won't over share all of them but I will definitely show you the ones that I really liked out of them.

The way they coordinate their aircraft and the SPEED that they travel while buzzing through the sky is phenomenal to witness in person. We were lucky to be able to see all 6 jets practice this week. The announcer made it fun as we were able to prepare for the direction and learn about their daring twists/turns and speeds, clocking 900MPH and as low as 200MPH. We felt it as they passed and I can say it was a real thrill to watch from the bleachers. Even better...you can do it for FREE! Just another reason to love Pensacola Florida~

If you have never seen them in person, it's definitely worth it as they are a truly remarkable, very talented pilots and team. Nothing but respect for our military and those that serve and protect our skies. The sounds of freedom is truly the best way to describe what you hear when they pass by!

It always takes so much longer to walk back from the point of Fort Pickens, but if you stop and pause to take a peek behind you as you walk back after sunset, you can enjoy views like this with no one around to disturb the tranquility of the moment. This season that I like to call local season.

Hope you had a great summer and when you look back you enjoy the wonder of it all. đŸ˜‰
