The seniors from Warhill High School participated in a social-distanced parade down Duke of Gloucester St. at Colonial Williamsburg.

This protest started early in the morning where several local NAACP leaders were arrested for trespassing. Just a few hours later, multiple protesters covered the monument with spray paint.

Another protest occurred in the evening, with a much larger crowd gathered. Protesters continued covering the monument with spray paint, and one of the statues was toppled, injuring one of the protesters as it fell. The police then secured the area with crime scene tape, and the remaining protesters dispersed.

As protests are happening nationwide, our hometown of Williamsburg continues to have it's share of peaceful protests. These photos are from today at the Colonial Williamsburg Capitol at the end of Duke of Gloucester St.
