Just wrapped a gallery of branding images for the lovely . Jonna and I met a little over 9 years ago when I photographed her, her husband, and their sweet cat! I was so honored when she asked if I’d photograph her branding images since she’s actually a branding photographer! It means so much to me when another photographer chooses to work with me, especially when they’re as fun as Jonna:)

Just a little bit of a truly perfect wedding day…Melissa and Mike (parents of my couple Jordan and Amanda from way way back in 2012!!) married in the sweetest backyard ceremony a few weeks ago and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be a part of it 💕

One of the highlights of my year so far was traveling to Vegas to capture Robin and Patrick’s ten year anniversary vow renewal! I loved seeing them again and catching up on all of their adventures in the decade since we last saw each other at their wedding in Virginia Beach. It was such an honor to get to celebrate with them twice.

Amanda and David finally had their long awaited engagement session! Due to living far away (in Hawaii!) and the ever changing pandemic, both their wedding and engagement photos have been postponed multiple times!

The cherry blossoms are peaking early this year! They’re predicted to peak March 22-25. If you’re thinking about having your engagement session during peak cherry blossom season here are two tips:

🌸 Scheduling your session for sunrise is a MUST! Cherry blossom season draws thousands of tourists and the area is incredibly busy at all times of day, but weekday mornings are going to be your best bet.

🌸 Park somewhere farther away and Uber or Lyft to get dropped off. A lot of the nearby parking is either closed or completely packed. Save yourself from driving around forever looking for a spot!

Planning a session during peak Cherry Blossom season requires a little bit more thought than a normal engagement session (and you have to get a permit, too!), but if you’re willing to go for it, the results can be beautiful!! Be sure to plan your timeline to allow at least an hour for all of your photos (family, bridal party, couple portraits). Add more time to that if you have a large family or a big bridal party or want photos in several locations around your venue.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Consider getting ready slightly earlier to allow time for each partner and their respective wedding party to have group portraits privately before the ceremony…this way we only have to do a few shots of the whole group post ceremony!

Remember to be flexible! If the weather is bad or things run behind, we may switch things up in the moment to accommodate your romantic couple portraits in the best light and move your family photos indoors.
