The importance of growth

August 31st, 1:00pm, marked the day of a new chapter in my life.

For 17 years, I held on to an image. An image that I never thought I would escape from.

I was always told "I wouldn't be Thomas without my dreads". It was that fear of not being who people thought me to be that made me hold on to something that I thought made me who I am...or was.

This journey has been one in the making. I have been running from God, ignoring the work and the job he has for me, drowning his voice out with the pleasures of this world. I couldn't say I didn't have fun...but it didn't complete me or give me peace.

I got tired of running,
I got tired of the temporary peace
I got tired of doing it my way and hitting a brick wall.

I wanted peace and I found it in God. I submitted completely to him and I didn't turn back.

These past months have been transformative for me....wrapped in a spiritual cocoon. the inner man has completely made his way to the surface and I couldn't be more excited for the next chapter in God 's grace and mercy.

Growing spiritually, walking in faith, living in Christ...we are redeemed!
