Me: So I want you to stand like "this" and move like "this" and fake laugh.

Them: uhhh...this is so awkward.

Me: Trust me.

I promise the ones you feel the most awkward while taking will end up being your favorites.

There was creek water, bare feet, two different locations, and two very different moods during tonight's senior session with Mataia.

One gave us that warm, golden glow that feels like late summer evenings.

The other was darker, moodier, and a little more wild.

I love when one session can tell more than one version of the story.

So, which one are you?

☀️ Golden + glowy
🖤 Dark + moody

STOP 3 OF 3. 📸

Back over the mountain to Confluence for the final session of the day — celebrating Jameson’s 1st birthday! 🎂🥳

Three sessions. Three very different stories. And about a million photos later… I’m calling it a day. 😂📸

STOP 2 OF 3. 📸

This one took me over the mountains to Rockwood for the Cayton family session! 🐑

The Caytons breed and raise sheep, so we had to include some of their flock in the photos.

One more session to go! 📸

FIRST OF 3 SESSIONS TODAY. ✨📸

Starting the day with Helena’s senior session at Deer Creek Winery at Watson Estate. 🍇

I love getting to capture the little details that make each senior who they are during such an exciting chapter of their story.

And Deer Creek Winery? I’ve been here twice this week and already looking forward to coming back. 🤍

One senior session down. Two more stories to capture today. 📸

Any interest in fluffy cow sessions? Thinking October 17th and 18th at Redstone Farm

Been feeling a little overwhelmed lately...

This photo from Kabella's senior session has me thinking the perfect solution is grabbing a book and chilling on the porch at the Deer Creek Winery at Watson Estate.

CandleHut has a crazy weekend from my all time favorite charity event the Annual Tractor Ride for Children's Hospital to a Sunday packed with seniors, families, and first birthdays!

A little sneak peek into Kabella’s senior session 🤍

This was my first time photographing a session at the Deer Creek Winery at Watson Estate, and I can already promise you… it will NOT be my last. 😍 What a beautiful place for senior portraits!

And then there’s Kabella — band kid, FFA kid, Bible in hand. We got to see so many different sides of her throughout the evening, from the sweet and thoughtful to the confident and completely herself.

Senior sessions don’t have to fit into one box. They should look like you.

Class of 2027 it's not too late to book your senior session! 📸

What do you get when you take a girl who grew up on the fairgrounds…

whose highlight of summer has always been a county fair…

who believes the best stories are found in the people, the traditions, the animals, the midway lights, the dirt, the laughter, the chaos, and the moments that happen when nobody’s posing…

and give her a camera, a love for storytelling, and a whole lot of fairground nostalgia?

You get The Fair Chronicle. 🎡✨

A new chapter of CandleHut Media dedicated to telling the stories of county fairs—the people who make them, the traditions that keep them going, and all the colorful little moments in between.

Because a fair is so much more than a week on the calendar.

It’s community.
It’s family.
It’s tradition.
It’s memories in the making.

And I’m ready to tell those stories.

The Fair Chronicle is officially here. 🎟️📸

Your Fair. Your Story. My Lens.

Know a county fair that could use a little extra help telling its story? 🎡

Tag them below! 👇

Whether they need help with photography, social media, or both, I’d love to connect and show them what The Fair Chronicle can do.

And if you’re part of a fair board and want to learn more, send me a message for the link to my Fair Chronicle packages + pricing!
