Time to give some love to our 2025 honoree, Mother Vicki Taylor, Supervisor of Women | Kansas Southwest Jurisdiction, COGIC.

Mother Taylor is the Supervisor of Women for the Kansas Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, led by Bishop Mark L. Gilkey.

She worked for over 35 years in USD 259 Wichita Public Schools as a teacher, special education teacher, diversity facilitator, and instructional leader.
She has a BA in Elementary Education and an MA in Educational Psychology from State University.

Married for over 50 years, she is a mother of two and a grandmother.

Let's hear some cheers for Dr. Beryl New, 2025 honoree and Kansas State Board of Education | District 6.

Beryl retired in 2023 after 35 years in public education and now serves on the Kansas State Board of Education. Appointed to the Kansas African American Affairs Commission and the Kansas Advisory Group for Juvenile Justice, she is active in community boards and her church.

She holds degrees from Washburn University and The University of Kansas, and is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A native Texan, LaTonia has lived in Kansas for 35 years and has dedicated 32 years to education. She is the Principal of in Wichita and has served in various educational roles, including classroom teacher and instructional coach.

Married to her high school sweetheart for 35 years, she has 4 children and 4 grandchildren, and is passionate about creating transformative experiences for staff and students.

At this year's , we shined a bright light on students.

In partnership with the Wichita Chapter of Links for their Girls Positivity Group. we were proud to present our Inaugural Youth Shine Award.

Amari and Aaliyah Robinson, students at Holy Savior Catholic Academy were selected to receive a Shine Award for their award-winning essays.

The duo has big goals and dreams and they believe that girls and women should work together to change the world.

β€œWe can change the world and make it better. We face challenges every day but we always find a way to overcome them and find a solution for it,” Amari Robinson.

β€œMy godmother, Dr. Delia Shropshire and mother, Amber Bias, have been trying to get me out of my shell,” says Aaliyah Robinson. Aaliyah was encouraged by her mother, godmother, and Girls Positivity Group to try new things like public speaking and she enjoys it. She says, β€œI feel like I can do much more if I put my mind to it.”

The future is BRIGHT with these girls!

Jacqueline has been unleashing her clients' radiance for over a decade. She opened her first location in Missouri in 2010 and expanded to Wichita in 2020, creating the popular FASHION FRIDAY event and securing a weekly show on GOOD DAY KANSAS.

An active community member, she has received multiple awards, including "BEST BOUTIQUE" and the 2024 Heroes & Sheroes Award. She is married to Darren for 38 years and has a son, Jarren.

Chick-fil-A teams, representing east and west Wichita, joined us as Read & Rise Ambassadors at our partner school, Gordon Parks Academy STEM Leaders in Applied and Media Arts.

The group read and distributed Peter H. Reynolds' picture book "Our Table" to each K-3 grade student and provided a copy to each teacher for their classroom library. The book shares the importance of the family gathering around the table to share strories, prepare meals and truly connect.
