Exploring Kansas

Exploring Kansas We’re Nick and Chel, the team behind Exploring Kansas. Since 2022, we’ve been adventuring across the state with our son and two dogs.

Our mission is to inspire others to discover Kansas’ natural beauty—follow along for our latest adventures!

Our road trip today to Pawnee County. The last video is the house I grew up in out by Quivera Wildlife Refuge. Nick had never been to Alden and if you know Sterling, you would know the two are very connected with the school and other means. I grew up with an Alden address, Sterling phone number and we lived in Reno County. We had so much fun exploring today. Hope you all enjoyed the photos.

Most of them are Pawnee Rock. 🫶🏻

Congratulations to Jenn and Jeff, who found the $100 jar hidden among the rocks at Pawnee Rock State Historic Site!
We also learned something new today thanks to our winners. 😅 We announced this hunt as being in Pawnee County, but Jenn and Jeff kindly informed us that Pawnee Rock is actually located in Barton County. Looks like we accidentally gave everyone a little Kansas geography lesson along with today's treasure hunt!
Thank you to everyone who came out and explored with us. Whether you found the jar or not, we hope you enjoyed getting outside and visiting one of Kansas' most historic landmarks.
Congratulations again to Jenn and Jeff, and we'll see everyone at the next hunt!
❤️ Adventure is closer than you think.

This weekend we’ll be taking a break from our hunts. 🌻
We hope everyone has an amazing Memorial Day weekend filled with good food, safe travels, and time spent with family and friends.
Most importantly, we want to take a moment to remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸
We’re also incredibly grateful for all who have served and continue to serve. Your sacrifice, courage, and dedication will never be forgotten. 🫶🏻
Take some time this weekend to appreciate the people around you and the freedoms we often take for granted.
We’ll see you all back out exploring Kansas next weekend.

We’ve been talking a lot lately about the future of our hunts. 👀💰
With gas prices, travel costs, and how much driving we’ve been doing across Kansas, we’re thinking about changing things up a little…
Instead of weekly hunts, we may start doing them every other week.
BUT… there’s a catch.

We’re thinking about increasing the prize from $50 to $100 for each hunt to make them even bigger and more exciting.
This would help us continue exploring more of Kansas while still making the hunts fun and worthwhile for everyone 🌻
What do you guys think??

Would you rather have:
👉 Weekly $50 hunts
or
👉 Biweekly $100 hunts 👀💰
We’d love to hear your thoughts!

These videos and photos are from Olpe/Emporia from yesterday after we finished hiding the jar.

We have a winner!! 👀💰
David Lawrence found the jar out at Eureka City Lake!
And according to David… it took him about 30 minutes of searching to finally spot it 🤣👀
This one definitely made people slow down and really look around 😏🌾
Huge congrats, David!! 👏
We love seeing people get out, explore Kansas, and turn an ordinary day into an adventure 💚🌻
Stay tuned… you never know where we’ll end up next. 👀💰

Our adventures in Greenwood County today.

05/16/2026

The jar has officially been hidden 👀💰
We’re out at Eureka City Lake and this one will have you exploring the northwest corner of the lake 👀🌾
Don’t rush it—sometimes the best hiding spots are the ones hiding in plain sight 😏
Take your time, enjoy the views, and as always—please be respectful of the area and leave everything better than you found it 💚
Good luck… let’s see who finds it first 💰👀

If you’ve never spent time out in Greenwood County, this might be your sign to hit the road and discover somewhere new 🌾
Who’s planning to come out and hunt tomorrow?? Drop a 👇
And if you know the area… what’s a must-see spot while we’re there?? 👀
Stay tuned… clues coming soon 😏💰
