Continuing with our Class of 2026 Yearbook: My personal favorite shots of the year, in no particular order.
Every shot just pure happen stance and a moment caught in perfect time.
Jackson beneath the most spectacular Texas sunset, standing in the glow of Friday night lights with a cowboy hat that feels straight out of a country song. The golden sky spilling across the football field creates the perfect blend of grit, pride, and small town magic that defines Texas senior portraits. If this image doesn’t embody the heart of a Texas senior boy, I truly don’t know what does.
Yaya on the rooftop, perfectly poised as pigeons swept through the background at the exact right moment, creating one of those rare images that feels completely alive. The movement in the sky paired with her calm presence makes the photograph feel less like a posed portrait and more like stepping directly into a memory alongside her. It’s the kind of frame that pulls you in so deeply you can almost feel the rooftop breeze, hear the flutter of wings overhead, and experience the magic of the moment exactly as we did.
Annie, photographed in front of the most playful little wall tucked away in town, wearing the absolute cutest outfit that felt so perfectly her. The bold colors, layered textures, and joyful styling brought so much life into the imagery, proving just how powerful color can be in creating emotion and energy within a photograph. Every shade in this scene adds a sense of happiness and nostalgia, and Annie matched that excitement perfectly, lighting up the entire shoot with her enthusiasm.
Addi in Dallas where this beauty queen had such a complimentary dress to pair with the beautiful Love Shack Fancy store. The color story just exudes softness and sweetness. This is one reason I like to choose the locations for my clients, because sometimes I see things like color theory.
Hadley, with a pose that is less than comfortable , but pushing boundaries to create triangles to frame and move your eye through the scene. When helping pose and direct my clients, it occasionally will feel weird posing for a shot in certain ways. But as I always say, feels weird, looks good! This image embodies that motto.
And Addi feels like a quiet luxury dream, wrapped in soft monochromatic tones that create an effortlessly sleek and polished atmosphere. The clean lines, delicate lighting, and subtle reflection transform the portrait into something almost cinematic, adding an artistic depth that feels both modern and timeless. Addi carries the frame with such graceful elegance and exquisite beauty, bringing a refined sophistication that makes the entire image feel like a piece of art rather than just a photograph.
