There is something different about photographing athletes during their senior year. This is the season they have worked toward for years, the last time they will wear this uniform, play alongside these teammates and represent their school as a Maverick.

I wanted these images to feel like them. Strong. Powerful. Confident. Dynamic. Not just pretty volleyball pictures, but images that capture the energy, grit and personality they bring to the court.

We used dramatic lighting, movement and bold posing to really lean into that feeling, and 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗼 ｜𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 helped me with the finishing touches by cleaning up things like glasses glare, stray hairs, bruises and a little shine from the external flash.

More than anything, I wanted these girls to look back at these images and remember exactly who they were in this season of life. Senior year, volleyball season, their teammates beside them and one last year of being Mavericks.

I will forever be obsessed with the girls who fully commit to the bit. If you're willing to be a little extra, trust my vision, and bring full main character energy... we're about to absolutely eat. The bold looks? The dramatic poses? The confidence? Yeah... that's the vibe every single time.

Despite my lack of posting, this summer has been a busy one. 10 Seniors in , 3 styled shoots, 11 teen shoots and one Confernce in all than less than 6 weeks. Needless to say, I have some catching up to do.

My girlies love flowers just about as much as I do. So before the brutal summer heat killed all of the wildflowers in the Wichita Mountains, we popped in to enjoy the scenery. Surrounded by bison in the distance, we enjoyed the stillness of the valley and the storm forming in the sky and the beauty our little foothills create.

3.) Bringing your dog to your photoshoot

ESPECIALLY if said dog has a cut little bow like Sprinkles did! Reese and Sprinkles are the most dynamic, sweetest, most adorable duo since Elle and Bruiser.

Things I hate about summer, the hot golden sun.

But I love how in an image it looks like a warm hug. I love the sun halos it gives in girls hair. Especially if they have blonde hair that radiates its warmth like Audrie! This all American cutie was nothing short of perfection in her summer session.

In one week I traveled to Santa Barbara to photograph a few flamingos in Cali, drove 7 hours to Vegas for a wedding, hopped on a plane at 1 am to head to Dallas, to catch another flight to Indiana for a Conference.

I think I finally recouped! And I am finally getting caught up on editing.

So let's show off some cutie girls and this breathtaking California coast line.

My first Class of 2027 senior is officially in front of my camera, and I couldn't have dreamed of a sweeter way to start the season!

I had the privilege of photographing her before prom this year, and I was absolutely thrilled when I found out she had booked her senior portraits with me too! She is absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and such a joy to photograph. Her kindness, confidence, and smile made this session so much fun.

If she's any indication of what's to come, I know this senior season is going to be an amazing one. I can't wait to meet the rest of my Class of 2027 seniors and create so many unforgettable memories together!

Can we make FUN-ky Friday a thing?! A time where I get to show off some shots that are a little out of the norm?

Having a new little studio inside of The Hoo House, I get a little more space to spread my creative wings. This is one of the first sets of many that will be created with joy! And having my long term clients Kyra being one of the first to break them in was quite poetic.
