I've always had an interest in photography, so I bought a used camera and asked a friend some questions, and off I went. I carry a camera with me all the time- whether it's my cell phone or my Sony a6000. I consider myself an "opportunistic photographer," meaning I don't generally go somewhere looking for a shot. My photos aren't usually planned. I've learned I see things that some people don't notice, and I like capturing and sharing those things.

This little album sums up my afternoon at the Small Town, Big Picnic this past Saturday. These are some of my favorite folks when I visit this little town and I'm beyond thankful I've become friends with them!

June's Morristown, TN EAA Chapter 1494 monthly breakfast was the best one yet! Where else can you find so many aviation enthusiasts at one time, sitting around drinking coffee, eating breakfast, and talking about airplanes??? Both the parking area for the aircraft and for people visiting by car were full. If you've not been to one of these monthly breakfasts yet, what are you waiting for?!?!

So, Iā€™m at the ā€œSmall Town, Big Picnicā€ event in Erwin this evening, taking photos of the events. First up is this singer who opened up the picnic. She takes the stage, I start taking photos, she starts singing, and when I heard her voice, I immediately hit the record button and started video instead.

Iā€™m not really into music like most people are, but something about this type of music and the way she sings it gets my attention. I think sheā€™s amazing!

This morningā€™s Morristown, TN EAA Chapter 1494 breakfast was NUTS!!!! There were so many planes that they had to park them from one end of the runway in front of the EAAā€™s new hangar all the way up to the flight school! This event just keeps getting bigger and better.

The second photo best describes what this morning was like. You see a line of airplanes taxiing to leave as more airplanes are landing. The radio chatter was non-stop. It was great to see so many friends, new and old!

Iā€™m heading to photograph another event this afternoon. I hope to have all the photos from this morning posted by lunch Sunday. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Come out and see me for breakfast and airplanes at the Morristown airport this morning until 10:30, then this afternoon in Erwin for the "Small Town, Big Picnic" community picnic from 4-8!
