Day 4 in the books guest hosting TALK! 100.7 FM Talk of the Town with Rocco LaDuca and Mark!🎙️

Today’s lineup reminded me why I love this seat. We kicked things off with Isabelle Isabelle Alexander-Klaboe Alexander-Klaboe from the Clinton Chamber Of Commerce Clinton Chamber previewing this Saturday’s Clinton Art & Music Festival (10am-6pm in the Village, mark your calendars). Then Brian Wyman joined us, father of fallen Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputy Kurt B. Wyman, who was killed in the line of duty in 2011. Brian came on to talk about the Grief Share Support Group at Hope Alliance Church Hope Alliance Church, meeting every Thursday at 6:30pm. It’s been 5 1/2 years since I lost my husband, and conversations like this one still hit different. Grief doesn’t run on a schedule, and knowing there’s a space like this for people in our community means a lot.

We also welcomed Anne Lansing, CEO of safeschoolsmohawkvalley Safe Schools Mohawk Valley, for an important conversation about mental health support for kids as the new school year approaches. Safe Schools Mohawk Valley works with at-risk youth and their families to keep them in school, help them graduate, and prepare them for college or a career, using an evidence-based approach that supports both academic success and social-emotional well-being. Such important work happening right here in our community.

And to round things out, Jim Victor and Marie Pelton Jim Victor Marie Pelton called in from Pennsylvania to talk about the incredible butter sculptures they’ve been creating at the Great NY State Fair for the past 24 years. We’re talking 800 pounds of butter, 11 days of sculpting, about 3,200 sticks total, enough to smear 76,800 slices of toast. Yes, butter sculptures. I always love seeing them at the Fair and had no idea how they were made until today!

Grateful to Rocco LaDuca and Mark Wolber for making this such a welcoming seat to sit in, and proud that I got to personally bring two of today’s guests to the table. If it’s happening in our community, chances are it’s the Talk of the Town TALK! 100.7 FM

Why post just a photo when you can watch it instead? A day of boating on Lake Placid with Lindsay Berardino Lindsay, sunshine, and the best kind of chaos. Pierce took the wheel (well, “drove”), and once he saw Woodsy Woodsy | ADK Adventure Lab the dog take the leap, he found the courage to jump in too. Thank you, Lindsay, for inviting my family out for a tour of the lake. I grew up in Old Forge and somehow never made it out on the water up here until now. ⚓️

Day 3 behind the scenes at TALK! 100.7 FM 🎙️

Today’s conversations reminded me why I love what this show does, bringing real people doing real good right into our community’s homes, cars or whatever they are listening.

We sat down with Celia Bogan, Executive Director of Hope House Of Utica Hope House. Then with Christine Perez and Hallie Eric from United Way of the United Way Mohawk Valley Mohawk Valley, to talk about the United Games, such an incredible initiative bringing our community together.

Lastly, we welcomed Dr. Barbara Drake of New Hartford Wellness New Hartford Wellness to the mic for a conversation about peptide therapy health and skin wellness.

Grateful to be behind the camera capturing these stories and behind the mic getting to be part of them. This is what community radio is all about. 💛 Thanks to Rocco LaDuca and Mark Wolber for having me back on the air today. I can’t wait for next week!

thank you Rae, I have been dying to learn underwater photography! I remember being in grad school and my professor won’t sign off on me to take a class. Well I no longer need his approval!! I can’t wait to try this again! I need to buy a house for my camera. I am always learning and trying new skills. More to come once I get my photos back from tonight’s shoot but here’s a little behind the scenes. Are you ready?! Ok?!? 🤣😂

New chapter unlocked: guest hosting TALK! 100.7 FM ! 🎙️ Couldn’t resist sneaking my camera in for some behind-the-scenes shots along the way. So grateful that my first guests of the day were my Success Circle Community ladies, what a full-circle moment. And a huge thank you to Rocco LaDuca Rocco, the host, for making my first day so easy and welcoming. Turns out we’re both Newhouse School alumni who bleed orange, fitting, since even the lobby walls are orange! 🍊 Feeling grateful for this new experience. 📸✨

Catch Jessica Rowley tomorrow on TALK! 100.7 FM Talk of the Town’s Success Circle Community Success Circle Spotlight on TALK! 100.7 FM at 7:00 am!!!

It’s a full circle moment for me too, tomorrow is my first day as guest host, and she’s my very first interview. I sat in that same spotlight seat back in January alongside Christine Spiak ~ Money Coach Christine Spiak and Tricia Sticca Tricia Sticca here’s a link to my story if you missed it: https://vimeo.com/1152747499. Getting to welcome Jessica (plus Christine and Tricia)into that seat now means a lot.

There’s nothing better than sitting down with a small business owner and hearing how it all began.

Jessica’s cookie business started the way so many great ones do: birthday cakes for her own kids, word of mouth from friends, and a whole lot of heart. It traces back to her grandma’s kitchen, where family recipes and baking traditions first took root. Today, Love & Cupcakes Studio (love & cupcakes) is turning out gorgeous custom treats all over the Mohawk Valley.

If you’re in need of custom cookies or cakes for your next celebration, Jessica’s your girl.

This is exactly the kind of storytelling I love creating for small business owners: video that doesn’t just show your products, it shows why people fall in love with your brand.

If you’ve got a story like this waiting to be told, let’s talk.

Some connections take a minute to click into place. This one started in the halls of our high school (turns out Lara was a year behind me), showed up again through Cub Scouts Pack 93, and finally clicked over baby goats at The Lavender Farm in Remsen, where we swapped notes on content creation, social media, and what it’s really like being a small business owner wearing all the hats. Turns out networking and baby goats are a great combo. 🐐

Meet Lara SepanskiLara Sepanski Pimentel, founder of Osa Philanthropy. She’s spent nearly 20 years helping nonprofits, locally and globally, raise the funding they need to do their work, over $23M and counting.
