Spent some time on the Whitewater River in Indiana a couple weeks back, documenting the experience you can have with fishing guide of Two Forks Guide Service. The Whitewater River has the steepest gradient of any river in the state, and it lives up to its name. Kevin knows this water like the back of his hand, and has no trouble expertly putting you on the fish amidst frequent swift water sections.

I felt fortunate to get to know Kevin, along with an awesome groups of guys, and spend some time with good friends: , , , @317.flies, and . The fly fishing community in Indiana is top notch, always welcoming, and never afraid to have a good time. Looking forward to my next opportunity to fish the Whitewater again!

Is there a better place to enjoy your coffee? The river is hard to beat.

I shot these photos for to highlight a new event experience they’ll be offering soon. Sunrise paddling with coffee brewed over a campfire. was the perfect company to partner with, too! Anyone up for doing this over the winter??

A couple of weeks ago, I caught my personal best Smallmouth at 21”. The whole experience was truly something special! .bryce (Bryce), (Shea) and I had been planning an Indiana Creek Crawl for months leading up to this, but, as things go, we didn’t decide where to fish until about 48hrs in advance. We knew we would stay in Indiana, and we knew we wanted to wade creeks. That didn’t narrow it down much, until the 2-day forecast presented us with our options. We selected sections of Sugar Creek & Big Walnut Creek to fish across 2 full days. Both days, we had the creeks to ourselves. Not another soul in sight. Just what my soul needed. It was mid-day on our first day, and we had all had great success up to this point, but the fish were mostly average sizes. A lot of fun, no doubt, but nothing worth telling stories about. Then it happened. My fly line tugged something fierce and I burned my finger on the line as I set the hook. Fish on. I knew immediately this was a chunker, because I’d never felt a bass pull this hard. It jumped in a rage, and all of us got a clear view that this was the fish of the day. For me, my life. I didn’t say a word. My ability to speak ceased to exist, and 100% of my focus was dedicated to getting this fish in the net. I may not have been speaking, but I was listening as Bryce & Shea traded exclamations and coached me on what to do throughout the fight, until Shea was finally able to step in with the net. My heart was pounding, my pride was swelling, and my tongue finally untwisted itself. “That’s a PB”, I said. Shattering my previous record by 150%. I’ve never claimed to be a “good” fisherman, but this was my first Smallie that I could be truly proud of. It felt friggin great!! And how awesome is it that I got to share that experience with some great guys?! It sure wouldn’t have been the same without them there. It’s definitely a core memory. We spent a few minutes snapping quick pics, between keeping the fish in the water, before releasing it back to the creek. And then I spent about 20 minutes sitting on a nearby sandbar while my nerves calmed down and we all chatted and joked about what just transpired.

Pickles & Chili - Two things that go together better than you might think. Recently spent a day with Two Forks Guide Service fishing the White River and chowing down on some venison chili. is such a good angler and conservationist that he hooked and landed a glass bottle from the depths! However, landed the biggest fish of the day. Who fished the White better? You decide.

PSA to all off-road enthusiasts: Don’t sleep on the Off-Roadeo experience! I recently attended with my good friend Ben () as his Plus 1, and I was blown away by the experience. A full day of off-road training/driving, with lunch and dinner provided, along with a complimentary Bronco-branded water bottle. Our trail guide, Chris, was extremely kind and knowledgeable as he expertly guided our group of Bronco drivers through a private 1000-acre off-road trail system, deep in the Appalachian mountains of Tennessee. The trails were crafted to specifically highlight all the amazing features and capabilities of the Bronco. Whether you’re new to off-roading or experienced, this event has something for everyone!

Hittin’ the highways ain’t bad this time of year.

My brother bought a 1972 Chevrolet earlier this year, and we finally got around to a proper photoshoot. Couldn’t have picked a better time of year for it. I think it was worth the wait.

Spent a couple days paddling and camping on the White River with some good friends. There’s no better place to be in Indiana than on the water.

I don’t know why more people don’t do this. Indiana’s rivers are the perfect backdrop for adventure. We didn’t see a single soul the whole time we were on the river. We had it all to ourselves. As much as I enjoyed to solitude and time with friends, I wish more Hoosiers knew they could explore and camp on Indiana’s navigable waterways for free. Aside from gas and food, I didn’t spend a dime for these views. What an absolute treasure!
