More good news has come our way this week. Our new film, "Trans Rising", has now been selected to the Cinematic European Film Festival and has won Best Documentary, and in addition has been selected to the BridgeFest Film Festival (Vancouver), the World Film Festival in Cannes, (where it has also been selected as a Semi-Finalist), the Crown Point Film Festival (Chicago), and the Rome Prisma Film Festival (Italy). I would like to thank my co-producer Manuel Vas Dias, the Founder and Chair of , Meliani, The Deputy Mayor/Alderman of Amsterdam, and the Regency Amsterdam for incredible support to make this project possible. I am excited to announce that our new film, "Trans Rising," has been selected to the Cinematic European Film Festival, and additionally, has been awarded Best Documentary. Meet Dindi Tan, the first transgender woman appointed by former Philippine President Duterte to the position of Director of the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers). She is also the National President at LGBT Pilipinas Party-list, and her influence and leadership cannot be overstated. A lifelong leader for LGBT rights, she graciously provided her wealth of insights on transgender issues during our interview for my film My Transgender Life. I am extremely grateful for her participation in the film, which allows the viewer to meet some very courageous and interesting men and women and to hear their stories about the fight for political recognition.

Meet Nil Nodalo, the first openly transgender man in the Philippines and a leader for hundreds of others who are navigating the uneven road of public acceptance. He is the Founder, Director and CEO at TransMan Pilipinas, an advocacy group for transgender men which provides support, advice, help with hormone treatments, and even has their own basketball team. Warm and engaging, he is an immensely popular man who was instrumental in opening many doors for my team when we were shooting our film, My Transgender Life in 2022.
