The laughs between touch ups, the excitement building with every single stroke of the brush, and the moment everyone looks up and realises today is actually happening. These are the moments that set the tone for everything that follows.

The friends who came to celebrate and then absolutely took over the dance floor. No warm up needed, no convincing required, they were out there from the very first song and had absolutely no plans of stopping. This is the kind of energy that makes a reception feel like a real party and keeps everyone on their feet all night long. The couple could not have asked for a better crew.

Does anyone actually know how to bustle a wedding dress on the day? After photographing 400 plus weddings the answer is very often no. 😄A bustle lifts and secures your train after the ceremony so you can walk, dance, and move freely for the rest of the night. The most important tip of all,take photos and video at your final fitting so someone actually knows how to do it on the day. Have your maid of honor there if possible, pack safety pins as a backup, allow ten minutes in your timeline after the ceremony, and always do a test walk before heading to your reception. Simple steps that save a whole lot of chaos.

A few things that make couple portrait sessions so much better for everyone involved. 💕

- Choose a location that actually means something to you both, comfort and familiarity always show up in the photos in the best possible way
- Pick outfits that complement each other without being too matchy, think similar tones rather than identical looks and wear something you genuinely feel good in
- Show up with no agenda, the less you try to pose and the more you just interact with each other the better every single frame will be
- Plan your session around golden hour, that soft warm light is genuinely transformative and makes every couple look incredible
- Trust your photographer completely, stop thinking about what you look like and just focus on each other and let the camera do the rest

The best couple portraits are never the most posed ones. They are always the most real ones.

Autumn showed up and absolutely did not disappoint. Those warm orange and golden tones, the light filtering softly through the leaves, the colour in every single direction you turned, it was the kind of backdrop that makes every frame look like it was painted rather than photographed.
Capturing family and friends together in the middle of all of that beauty because the season does something to people, it softens everything, warms everything, and makes even the most casual moments look extraordinary. Fall has a way of adding life and magic to every session and this one was no exception. These are the photos that people frame and keep forever. 🍂

A son and his first love. There is something about the mother son dance that quietly takes over the entire room. She watched him grow into the man standing there and now she gets to share one last dance with him before he steps fully into his own forever. The pride, the love, the happy tears she tried so hard to hold back all of it right there in one beautiful moment. This one never gets old.

Kids at weddings are absolutely adorable, until they decide to do things entirely on their own terms. Here are a few tips to make sure the little ones shine on the day:

- Practice the aisle walk with them a few times before the wedding day so it does not feel completely new and overwhelming when the moment arrives
- Have a trusted adult walk alongside or just behind them during the ceremony so they feel safe and guided
- Make sure they are well rested and fed before the ceremony — a tired or hungry flower girl or ring bearer is a wildcard nobody is ready for
- Keep their getting ready routine simple and fun — let them feel special and excited rather than rushed and stressed

When they feel comfortable and happy it shows in every single frame.
