I used to dread Minnesota winters, like to the point where we were seriously considering moving farther south. This winter something shifted in me. I’m not sure if it was the way my children light up as they run to the window to watch the snow fall, the feeling of cozying up by the fireplace, or simply the way life seems to slow down in the winter.
I am thankful for the opportunity to live a slow and intentional life in the winter. It gives me time to be present with my girls, bake and explore new hobbies, or dive head first into a new book. It provides time to reflect on what I value in my business, and the experience I want to provide to my clients in the future. It allows me to slow down, and enjoy what’s happening now without the hustle and bustle of summer chaos.
Don’t get me wrong, I can not freaking wait to feel the summer sun on my face, enjoy my coffee on the deck every morning, and chase the sunsets with you. But for now, I’ll cozy up by the fire and enjoy the last days of winter slowness.
